On Sunday we were encouraged to consider our response to unwanted circumstances. We all have to deal with things not going our way in life. As believers we have both the opportunity and the obligation to respond to them biblically. When we face difficulties, we must remember that God has us exactly where he wants us to be. He calls us to trust in him and rely on his Word to make it through life. Remembering God in the midst of trials is a balm to weary souls. Will you make use of it?
Pastor Mike Summers mentioned that what he preached on Sunday was a condensed form of multiple sermons he preached at Countryside. You can listen to those sermons at the following links:
PREPARING TO HEAR
This Sunday we are beginning a short series considering the attributes of God which are revealed in the incarnation. This Sunday, JD will preach how we see the grace of God at Christmas. To prepare, read John 1:1-18 and consider the following questions:
- How does the incarnation reveal God's grace?
- What grace was available to Israel in the law?
- Why is God's grace paired with his truth?
- How can I show God's grace to others this Christmas season?
Let's pray that God's word is clearly proclaimed and received on Sunday. Pray for believers to be encouraged and strengthened, for unbelievers to be drawn to Christ, and for God to be glorified in all we do.
