FIJI

As Fiji Bible College prepares for the conclusion and celebration of their 50th year of ministry, they are also continuing to pursue the proclamation of the gospel to the ends of the earth. Recently they have had the opportunity to work with doctors from Australia and New Zealand who desire to provide medical help to people throughout Fiji. They desire to use this practical service as a door to evangelism, discipleship, and spreading the love of Christ by proclaiming the gospel.

HOW to pray

  • Pray that God would use the ministry of the doctors from Australia and New Zealand to open doors for the proclamation of the gospel throughout Fiji.

  • Pray that God would use the funds Redemption Hill has sent to Fiji Bible College to further the ministry of equipping pastors to lead churches biblically and effectively.

  • Pray that God would sustain the leaders of Fiji Bible College:

    • Dr. Narayan Nair and family

    • President Premend Choy and family

    • Michael Seehusen and family.

Mexico

Since their first service in November, Iglesia Biblical Redencion in Los Mochis has been blessed by the Lord. God has given growth, both numerically and spiritually, and the church is approaching some significant milestones. In May they will hold a service in which they will rejoice in their first baptisms, as well as beginning formal membership in the church. We rejoice that God has been faithful to his word in Matthew 16:18, in which he said “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Pastor JD and his family will be traveling to Mexico to visit the Warnes in May. They will spend about a week with the Warnes which will allow JD to speak at a monthly men’s event and allow the Summers to attend the baptism and membership service in Los Mochis. Please pray that this trip would be mutually beneficial for the Warnes and the Summers, and by extension mutually beneficial for the churches in Mexico and for our own body.

Finally, this weekend Pastor Brian and one of the pastoral residents, Tony de la Cruz, will be traveling about 12 hours north for a conference on Biblical Counseling in Nogales, Mexico. While this will be a beneficial time for Brian, Tony, and those attending the conference, it will also be a long and tiring trip, so pray especially for Brian’s health and energy both during and after the trip.

How to pray

  • Pray that God would continue blessing Iglesia Biblical Redencion, specifically blessing their upcoming baptism and membership service.

  • Pray for the Summers as they travel to Mexico in May that they would have safe travels and would both bless the believers in Mexico and be blessed by them.

  • Pray for Brian and Tony’s trip to Nogales this weekend, specifically that God would sustain Brian’s energy and health.

  • Pray for current pastoral residents Tony and Yosimar and potential future pastoral resident Cesar.

  • Pray that God would continue to strengthen and grow the churches in Sinaloa.

  • Pray for Pastor Brian as he trains and equips church leaders both virtually and in person in Mexico.

  • Pray for Pastor Brian as he prepares to speak at Countryside’s Youth camp in June and for the students attending the camp.

  • Pray for Danyel as she joins her husband Brian in serving in various capacities in the church plant.

  • Pray for the entire team helping to plant the church in Los Mochis:

    • Pastor Brian Warne and wife Danyel

    • Pastor Antonio de la Cruz and wife Alicia

    • Pastoral Resident Tony de la Cruz, wife Avi, and family

    • Pastoral Resident Yosimar Moya, wife Paula, and family

    • Deacon Seth, wife Mavy, and family

    • Deacon Will, wife Jasmin, and family

Brazil

God has continued to give the leaders in the church in Brazil a vision to spread the gospel to the Portuguese-speaking world and has been blessing their efforts to do so. Roger is planning another vision casting trip to Portugal for a small group of Brazilian men and women who are considering moving to Portugal to plant churches. One of these people is Pastor Gersom from Maceio, Brazil who will be taking his wife along so they can see if God would have them move to Portugal. Pray especially for their family as they seek to pursue God’s leading.

How to pray

  • Pray that God would use this upcoming trip to Portugal to give direction to those participating and to further the spread of the gospel around the world.

  • Pray for Pastor Roger and the rest of the leaders would have wisdom in utilizing the blessings God has given their church. Pray that God would use the people in their body to continue growing their own church and to plant other churches in Brazil and throughout the Portuguese-speaking countries in the world.

  • Pray that Pastor Roger would have strength and patience to continue enduring his pre-Parkinson’s symptoms and that doctors would have wisdom and skill in diagnosing and treating it.

  • Pray that Crystal would be pain-free until she can have her gall bladder removed this fall.

  • Pray for the children of the Johansens and the Maias as they study:

    • Juliana Johansen as she finishes her first year of college in West Virginia.

    • James Johansen as he studies in high school in Aracaju.

    • Marcos Maia as he studies in a Bible School in the Amazon.

  • Pray for the leadership in Aracaju:

    • Pastor Roger Johansen.

    • Pastor Eriomar Maia.

    • Pastor Marcos.
