God of Wrath and Mercy

undefined

Speaker: JD Summers | Date: October 18, 2020 | Text: Exodus 11:1-12:28

Sermon Summary

The lead up to the tenth plague demonstrates God's righteous justice and hatred for sin. For the Egyptians, this means the just sentence on every firstborn male. The same just sentence would have fallen on the Israelites, had they not obyed God's Word by faith. Today we too face the just sentence for our sin, unless we trust wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ's substitutionary sacrifice for us on the cross. God is full of just wrath, but he also overflows with endless mercy.

Speaker: Carey Wilson | Date: October 11, 2020 | Text: Mark 14:3-9

Sermon Summary

Jesus embraces and deserves worship. True worship is wholehearted, devoted, and authentic. Christ loves when we come to him with all that we have, giving him our entire attention. And he has the ability to accept our worship because he is worthy of it. Let us come to our savior with our devotion and our praise!

God of the Plagues

Speaker: JD Summers | Date: October 4, 2020 | Text: Exodus 7:14-10:29

Sermon Summary

God performs mighty wonders in order to make himself known. The plagues he brought upon Egypt were demonstrations of his power, and gradually grew worse in their severity as God gave opportunities for the nation to repent. These plagues carry meaning even to our present day, reminding us of God's power, his judgment, and his deep desire to be known accurately for who he is.
