This past week we were challenged with a message from Ezekiel 14 on idols of the heart. All our sin is ultimately a worship problem. Whatever we desire most, fear most, seek most, need most, that is our functional god. Our tendency to turn from the true God to something or someone else is nothing less than idolatry that must be repented of. The good news is that Jesus loves and died for idolaters like us, and there is hope for forgiveness, true change and real satisfaction in Christ.

If you have not done so already, please take some time this week to prayerfully consider the ten questions asked near the end of the sermon. Consider sharing your findings with your small group so that we can pray for one another and encourage one another to fight against our sinful tendencies in the power of the spirit.

You can also listen to the sermon in its entirety if you missed it.

In God's timing, this week's sermon will cover Mark 12:28-34. Take some time to read this text and meditate on the words of Christ as we prepare to worship on Sunday.

The ladies at Countryside have asked that we pass along this announcement to the women at Redemption Hill:

Ladies, you're all invited to a women's fellowship called Encouraged Hearts at Countryside on Saturday, July 23, in the Youth Room. We hope you can join us from 10am until noon to fellowship with other women and learn together "How the Gospel Changes My Hunger for the Word." This is a great opportunity for you to make a new friend and be encouraged by God's truth as we kick off our new ministry year under the umbrella of Hosea 6:3, "Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD." We'd love to have you come grow with us!
