On Sunday we looked at the account of Christ's arrest in the garden of Gethsemane. As the conspiracy to arrest Jesus unfolds, He is betrayed by Judas, misunderstood by the crowd, and abandoned by the disciples. But in the midst of this seeming tragedy His strength is shown in submission, His glory in suffering and His sovereignty in His surrender. May we examine our hearts this week and find comfort and hope in the faithfulness of our Savior.

Listen to Betrayed and Abandoned

This week's sermon will be an exposition of Mark 14:53-65. I encourage you to read this text and pray that the Holy Spirit will give us insight into the text and enable us to respond as we ought.

Our next youth activity will be Sunday evening October 30th. More info will be coming soon, but save the date! Contact Steven and Bradi Parkin with questions.

On Friday, October 28th our college students and young adults are invited to join the group from Countryside at 6pm in DeSoto for an evening of fellowship around the bonfire. They need us to RSVP so they know how much meat to smoke in preparation, so please let us know if you plan to attend.

Men, the Ironmen Summit is a yearly conference that we have participated in for that last few years, and many of us have profited greatly from it. It is an all day event that includes breakfast and lunch along with some great teaching aimed directly at men. This coming year the event will be held on Saturday, January 21st from 8am-4pm at Flint Hills Christian Church in Emporia, KS. Mark it down on your calendar. You can learn more and register here. It fills up fast, so I would encourage you to sign up soon.
