In Genesis 24 we observed the remarkable providence of God in providing a wife for Isaac. The doctrine of providence ought to humble us - we are not the masters of our destiny. It ought to comfort us - we are not victims of fate. And it ought to free us to step out in faith, knowing that God is always providentially guiding all things towards His desired outcome.

Listen to Faith and the Providence of God

This week's sermon will be from Genesis 25. Take a few minutes to read the passage and consider the following questions:

  • How is God shown to be both faithful and sovereign in this account?
  • What is revealed about the character of the patriarchal family as it grows?
  • How do these developments reveal a need for the gospel as well as continue the flow of history towards the coming of Christ?

Let's pray for open hearts and minds, and that our souls would be nourished with the faith-building, Christ-exalting truth of scripture.

Below are the songs we will be singing together on Sunday. Use this as a resource to learn unfamiliar songs, to meditate on Christ-centered truth throughout the week, and teach your children songs that will fill their minds and shape their hearts.
