IN REFLECTION

Last week we considered Jesus' condemnation of the scribes in contrast with His commendation of the poor widow in the temple. Religious hypocrisy is spiritually deadly, but genuine worship is eternally valuable. We need to evaluate our own lives and see which description fits us. Only the gospel of Jesus Christ can free us from seeking the approval of men and empower us to give sacrificially to God.

Listen to "Beware and Behold" from Mark 12:38-44

IN PREPARATION

Over the next few weeks we will begin studying through Mark 13 together in our Sunday morning service. Please take some time each week to read the chapter in its entirety, and we will seek to address the questions it raises in our time together on Sundays. Let's pray for clarity and wisdom as we seek to rightly interpret this complex portion of scripture. and let's pray that our faith would be strengthened as we dig in to God's word.

BAPTISM SERVICE

On Sunday August 21st we will be having our first baptism service at the home of Will and Nancy Moneymaker. We are inviting everyone to arrive at 5:30pm for a potluck dinner (bring food and lawn chairs) and then we will have a time of worship, teaching, and baptism at 7pm. We hope everyone can join us for this special celebration!

GREETERS

Our growing church is in need of a few people who would be willing to serve on Sunday mornings as greeters at Redemption Hill. We want those who visit to be welcomed and to get the direction they need in regards to children's ministry and nursery. If you are a member (not already involved in nursery or children's ministry) and interested in helping out, please let me know. Once we have a group of people we will have a brief meeting to lay out our goals and structure for this ministry.

UPCOMING YOUTH ACTIVITY

Jr high and high school students are invited to come enjoy some outdoor volleyball and receive spiritual encouragement from the word.
