This past Sunday we considered the cost of discipleship in Mark 8:34-38. Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him. But this investment is worth it. Whatever is lost does not compare in value to what is gained. Jesus holds out the promise of reward and extends this invitation to those who would follow Him. Are living as His disciple this week? Are you denying self, or instead pursuing self-expression, self-esteem, and self-fulfillment? Are you taking up your cross, or avoiding the adversity that comes from identifying with Jesus? Are you following Him in faith, believing in the reality of reward?

If you missed the sermon Sunday you can listen here.

This week pastor Otto Skoog from Counstryside will be preaching while I am gone. Pray for him as he prepares to speak and pray that our church would be receptive to God's word and that those who might be visiting would be impacted by the truth being proclaimed. Pray that distractions would be put aside and that we would come "hungering and thirsting for righteousness," eager to worship and be fed.

Just a reminder men, go sign up before this is full. I would love to have as many of our men attend as possible. This event will help to equip us to be faithful to what God has called us to to as church memebrers. husbands and fathers.

If you are planning to attend the 25 year anniversary celebration at Countryside on Saturday evening November 14th, please RSVP immediately if you haven't already. They are purchasing food for the event this week and need an accurate head count. You can RSVP online
