The world looks at God's design for women in the Bible and rejects it. With the backdrop of how our culture views and speaks about womanhood, it is tempting to read what Scripture says and cringe. But God's Word is true, God's purpose is best, and God's design is good. Men and women share equally in the image of God. Men and women also reflect God's image in the differences between the two genders. We must embrace these truths as we fight against the difficulties that have arisen since the fall.

Spend some time this week reflecting on whether your perspective towards women draws from God's design, or from the current trends of our culture. Reflect on whether you are fighting against God's design or embracing it.

Over the last several weeks, we have focused on understanding God's design in specific aspects of our life. This week we will look at how those in two specific stages of life, marriage and singleness, relate to each other. Spend some time preparing for this teaching by thinking on the following questions:

  • What do married and unmarried believers have in common?
  • What are the unique challenges married people face?
  • What are the unique challenges unmarried people face?
  • How can married believers and unmarried believers serve each other?

Please take a moment in preparation for this Sunday to pray for those God will bring to the service, both believers and unbelievers, and that he will work in their hearts to understand the Scripture and apply it to their hearts. Pray for Michael as he prepares and proclaims God's Word, and for the Holy Spirit to work through his words and in the hearts of all who hear. Pray that God would defeat our enemy's attempts to hinder the proclamation of the gospel at Redemption Hill.

Below are the songs we will be singing together on Sunday. Use this as a resource to learn unfamiliar songs, to meditate on Christ-centered truth throughout the week, and teach your children songs that will fill their minds and shape their hearts.
