Have you ever thought that your sin was unforgivable? When we understand how serious our sin is and how holy our God is, it is easy to be overwhelmed by the consequences of our sin. But we serve a God who is gracious and merciful. He lovingly restores us when we return to him.

When you are overwhelmed by your sin, turn your attention to God and instead be overwhelmed by his love.

Listen to The God of Loving Restoration

This Sunday, Pastor JD will begin a short series in the book of Jonah. Jonah causes us to consider our response to God and our relationships with others. It also points us to the character of God. It shows us his desire to save, his faithfulness, his patience, and his sovereignty. To prepare for this week and for the entire series, read the book of Jonah and consider the following questions:

  • What was Israel like when Jonah ministered? (2 Kings 14:23-29)
  • What do you already know about the book of Jonah?
  • Why do we have the book of Jonah in the Bible?
  • How is the gospel evident in Jonah?

Let's pray that God's word is clearly proclaimed and received on Sunday. Pray for believers to be encouraged and strengthened, for unbelievers to be drawn to Christ, and for God to be glorified in all we do.
