Masculinity was designed by God as a way for men to reflect the image of their creator in love, leadership, and service. However, with the fall brought sin, which corrupts masculinity and pulls men to be passive, abusive, and selfish. Jesus is the perfect man and redeems men so that they are able to follow after him in true manhood. Take some time to consider this week how you can live out true masculinity in your own life and support true masculinity in others.

Listen to "Living By the Book: God's Design for Masculinity"

This Sunday we will be turning to the counterpart of manhood: womanhood. God has a glorious design for women, one that is better than anything the world has to offer. Spend some time this week thinking about the following questions to prepare for the sermon:

  • What does it mean to be a woman?
  • How does the world view femininity?
  • In what areas are the Biblical mandate for womanhood needed most?
  • How does femininity affect families? The church?

Please take a moment in preparation for this Sunday to pray for those God will bring to the service, both believers and unbelievers, and that he will work in their hearts to understand the Scripture and apply it to their hearts. Pray for JD as he prepares and proclaims God's Word, and for the Holy Spirit to work through his words and in the hearts of all who hear. Pray that God would defeat our enemy's attempts to hinder the proclamation of the gospel at Redemption Hill.

Below are the songs we will be singing together on Sunday. Use this as a resource to learn unfamiliar songs, to meditate on Christ-centered truth throughout the week, and teach your children songs that will fill their minds and shape their hearts.
