On Sunday we considered the love of God from Hosea 3. When we are faithless, God is faithful. Though our sin is great, God's love is greater. He desires to restore us and even though this comes through painful discipline, he does it for our good and holiness.

As we approach Easter, remember God's love shown in redemption. There is no greater expression of love than someone laying down his life for his friends, which is exactly what Jesus came to do. Spend some time this week reflecting on the incredible love of God.

Listen to God's Unexpected Love

This week we have two opportunities to gather together and consider the events of Easter. We would love to have you join us at 7 PM on Friday to rehearse the seven sayings of Jesus on the cross.

Then, during our Sunday morning service we will be celebrating the resurrection. To prepare for the service, take some time to read the following passages regarding Christ's death and resurrection:

  • Isaiah 53
  • Matthew 26-28
  • Mark 14-16
  • Luke 22-24
  • John 18-20

Pray that we would hear the familiar truths of the gospel in a fresh way and that our hearts would be encouraged and filled up as we consider the glorious event and implications of the resurrection.

Below are the songs we will be singing together on Sunday. Use this as a resource to learn unfamiliar songs, to meditate on Christ-centered truth throughout the week, and teach your children songs that will fill their minds and shape their hearts.
