On Sunday we examined the account of Jacob's flight from Laban and once again saw the reassuring truth that God sovereign power overcomes oppression, and His grace and mercy prevail over the failures of His people. Our salvation ultimately rests not on our power, but on His. Not on our merit, but on Christs. What a source of courage and comfort for followers of Jesus! Let's trust and obey the faithful God of promise and grace!

Listen to Jacob vs Laban

This week we get the privilege of hearing from pastor Roger Johansen, missionary to Brazil. He will be sharing with us from Psalm 136. Take some time to pray and read through the text this week.

What is the emphasis of this Psalm?
How might a greater focus on these truths shape your attitude?
In light of what this Psalm says about God, are there things in your life that ought to change?
As those who know Christ and read this Psalm from the other side of the cross, what significance might these words have sung/read/prayed from our lips?

Below are the songs we will be singing together on Sunday. Use this as a resource to learn unfamiliar songs, to meditate on Christ-centered truth throughout the week, and teach your children songs that will fill their minds and shape their hearts.
