This past week we considered the instruction from Colossians 3 to put off sin, specifically sins of the heart (anger, wrath) and sins of speech (slander, lying). Such sins characterize the old life and are not in keeping with who we are now in Christ, and who Christ is making us to be. Let's make every effort this week to embrace and submit to God's work of making us more like Jesus.

Listen to "The War Against Sin, Part 2"

This week we will be looking at Paul's affirmation of Christian unity and equality in Colossians 3:11. Take some time this week to read this verse and consider:

  • What differences can easily become divisions in the church today?
  • What does it mean that "Christ is all and in all?"
  • Why is this reality a helpful motive for putting off sin (5-10) and putting on the virtues God desires (12-17)?

Let's pray that God's word is clearly proclaimed and received on Sunday. Pray for believers to be encouraged and strengthened, for unbelievers to be drawn to Christ, and for God to be glorified in all we do.

Below are the songs we will be singing together on Sunday. Use this as a resource to learn unfamiliar songs, to meditate on Christ-centered truth throughout the week, and teach your children songs that will fill their minds and shape their hearts.
