Last week we looked to Scripture to find hope in a difficult time. We were reminded to remember God's character and his plan during times of suffering. We should also remember that God uses trials in life to grow our trust in him.

As we move forward with Jalisa and her family, we need to remember these truths more than ever. Look to God in his Word and rely on him.

Listen to Looking to God in Times of Suffering

This week turn to Colossians 3:18-21. These verses contain teaching on family relationships, addressing marriage and parenting. These verses are important as they take the theme of Christ's supremacy and apply them to some of the most common relationships in the world. To prepare for this Sunday, read Colossians 3:18-21 and think about the following questions:

  • How would you explain Paul's command in 3:18 to an unbeliever?
  • How is Paul's teaching in Ephesians 5:22-6:4 similar and different to his teaching in these verses?
  • How could a father provoke his children?

Let's pray that God's word is clearly proclaimed and received on Sunday. Pray for believers to be encouraged and strengthened, for unbelievers to be drawn to Christ, and for God to be glorified in all we do.
