There are several common approaches to interacting with the world around us. We can withdraw from it and seek to avoid it at all costs. We can become like it so that there is no noticeable difference between us and the world. Or we can follow Scriptures command to wisely engage with the world. And to be able to have this wise engagement, we must first fear the Lord, feast on the Word, and focus on Christ.

As you reflect on Sunday's service, reflect on how you engage with the world.

Listen to The Supremacy of Christ in the Conduct of the Saints

Our text for this week is Hosea 11:12-12:14. These verses highlight the character and conduct of God and what they mean for us today. In order to prepare for Sunday, read the text and consider the following questions:

  • What stories from Jacob's life are mentioned in 12:3-4?
  • Why does Hosea highlight the Lord's memorial name in vs. 5?
  • What can you learn about God from these verses?
  • What can you learn about yourself from these verses?

Let's pray that God's word is clearly proclaimed and received on Sunday. Pray for believers to be encouraged and strengthened, for unbelievers to be drawn to Christ, and for God to be glorified in all we do.
