In Matthew 2, we see three different responses to the glorious birth of king Jesus. King Herod responds in fear, seeing Jesus as an unwelcome threat to his sinful ways and seeking to remove him. The people of Jerusalem respond with indifference and fear of aligning themselves against Herod.
